Officers’ Reports

 

1.           Southern Resource Recovery Centre Concept design

ATC Williams (ATCW) has been engaged by Ipswich City Council (ICC) to provide a conceptual design of a new Southern Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) and Animal Management facility. 

A new RRC is required to service the Southern suburbs of Ipswich, which are expected to experience significant population growth.

Additionally, Ipswich Waste Services partnered with Compliance Branch to develop a design for a new Animal Management facility co-located on the site.

The attached presentation, will discuss the initial concept design layout, including the 3D visualisation of the proposed facilities, and discuss next steps.

MATTERS ARISING:

 

Councillors in attendance noted and raised questions on the Southern Resource Recovery Centre proposed site location and potential first draft concept design. 

 

Councillors queried traffic modelling and reiterated the importance of community consultation on elements of the design.

 

 

2.           iGO Transport Strategy Major Review – COUNCILLOR WORKING GROUP 2

This is a report concerning the second of three (3) Councillor workshops for the City of Ipswich Transport Plan (iGO) major review project, covering the topic of vision, objectives and indicators.

MATTERS ARISING:

Councillors in attendance noted and raised questions in relation to the update presented on the iGO Transport Strategy Major Review.

Councillor Ireland and Councillor Jonic left the meeting at 3.00 pm.

Mayor Harding left the meeting at 3.06 pm.

Mayor Harding returned to the meeting at 3.14 pm.

Councillor Madsen left the meeting at 3.44 pm.
