Officers’ Reports

 

1.           Advocacy workshop with SAS Group

This workshop shared and discussed the internal engagement outcomes and recommendations of the SAS Group report as well as the roles and responsibilities of Council’s advocates. The workshop aimed to ensure the Mayor and Councillors are briefed on the benefits of collaborative advocacy to the City and are aware of the overall aspirations for the advocacy program.

 

2.           NTR PortConnex

 

Martin Albrecht AC, Chairman of National Trunk Rail briefed the Mayor and Councillors on the PortConnex project to build a 52km tunnel from Ebenezer to the Port of Brisbane.  The tunnel will carry double stacked containers, agricultural, resource and livestock freight on driverless, electric trains in 60 minutes.  Mr Albrecht and his colleagues presented on the project and also showed the Councillors a video.

Councillor Russell Milligan arrived at 2.21 pm.

Councillor Andrew Fechner arrived at 2.23 pm.

Councillor Jacob Madsen left the meeting at 3.00 pm

The Advocacy Workshop concluded at 3.11 pm.

The NTR PortConnex presentation commenced at 3.18 pm. Mayor Harding, Councillors Kunzelmann, Milligan, Tully, Fechner, Doyle and Madsen were present.

 

Councillors Andrew Fechner and Marnie Doyle left the meeting at 3.41 pm.

Councillor Paul Tully left the meeting at 3.55 pm.

Mayor Teresa Harding left the meeting at 4.03 pm.

The meeting closed at 4.07 pm.
